2024-11-14 - i forgot to go to sleep, and for what

Captains log: screw-me forty-three am. I forgot to go to sleep. I literally got a restless leg going. I kept trying to fix things on this site, but like so many things I attempt, I seemed to negate my progress by screwing up something I had figured out, had taken for granted, and then let it become a problem new problem when there wasn't one to begin with. It's really a 3 steps forward 2 steps back, but when you feel so close to the finish line, you can't help but not.

I'm going to attempt to steal some zzz's and attempt to be a productive human today. I will definitely not sleep till noon

9 hours later...

Well, I did the thing and overslept. So much for that. I suppose tonight will be a sleepy time tea, magnesium and melatonin kind of night, eh?

A bit of food for thought on substack, while I am here.

11:53 PM

Closing the day. I promise I will drinking the sleepy time tea, take the magnesium, down the melatonin. I'll even put on my pjs for good measure. Anything to create the cozy vibe, right?

Which is why I wanted to add one last update for the day. An errant thought I had earlier:

*Is the high-quality of mid-20th century furniture and design in general a response to the rise of the need to create physical comfort in a hostile political and social environment?

No doubt I am the first to think along these lines, but certainly, there must be something to the idea that when we feel no control of, or under moral siege by our political institutions, do we consciously or subconsciously put greater effort into our immediate physical surroundings?

I'm asking, how much fascism does it take for humanity to design a new classic chair?

Oh, I almost forgot, to link to yesterday's post.
